Two Weekends in June

Recent pics ...

Sun on the hill on the other side of coulee.

A river pic - that is bank work that is one year old.

No big fish, but lots of these small stream fish

We we're at the farm so there were chores to be done.

Grif had to be penned up separate and was not happy about it.

Three of the girls were in heat and it wasn't puppy time.

The orphaned calf had to be fed.

Tractors had to be ridden

Next day we fished a stream that had had 4 inches of rain a couple of days before.

Hot steamy and foggy.

This brown trout lip jewelry is a swap fly.

Fall cast and blast II

Day 2 results much similar to Day 1. Grouse flushed with none accidently flying into the direction that the birdshot was flying. The day was warm and the dog got a work out. Here he is lying down on the ground drinking from his bowl refusing to make eye contact with me because he is so disappointed in one half of the team.

As usual the cast portion of the day went much better.

With no grouses to bring home I took a couple of trout for the old man back at the cabin.

There are essential vitamins and nutrients in fresh caught brook trout that are very beneficial for 86 yr olds.

A dog in his element

One nation under dog

Special guest blog by Leah Wallach

It may seem that this is just a normal puppy sleeping on a deck- but if only you knew the truth.
Here he is gnawing on the carcass of one of his victims. It is an already-dead, maggot-infested walleye that washed up on shore. We smelled it long before we saw it. And him.
Here he is on his Royal Chaise Lounge. Imitating Uncle Mike.
Here Gryffindor is using his supersonic alien speed to befuddle his humans.
He is exhausted in this picture, and we were able to see past his trickery. However, the truth was yet to come.

This picture says it all. This is his true identity. Look in his eyes. Griff is really an alien from the planet Zorgon. He is here to collect puppy treats for warship fuel, so he can take over the universe. He has four main weapons: Cuteness Ray, mind control, CDH (Curious Dog Head), and the Jaws of Death.
Beware the Puppy!!!!!

Meet Gryffindor

This is our new pup.
A Brittany from Tainter Creek in Crawford County Wisconsin.

We are in the process of puppy proofing the yard and house, but so far, so good.
